There is a poster which I have seen and that is representing how serious the tradition of forced marriage is and asks people whether if they need help and support from their organisation about the forced marriage.

Have you guys ever heard about the tradition of forced Marriage or Children Marriage? Forced Marriage and Children Marriage is somewhat tradition for some countries and it mostly happens It is very common in South-Asian countries and Latin America. Some people in South-Asian countries and African countries consider forced marriage as a tradition and it is legal in some countries. From now, I am going to talk about what forced marriage is in detail and whether it is a harmful tradition or not.

Some forced marriage are decided because they want to earn money or other specific reasons for instance: religious reasons, terrorists forces women to marry them by use of violence but most common type of forced marriage is when parents or other family members forces their children to marry someone in order to earn money. On the contrary, the tradition of Children marriage is also one type of forced marriage. Even 13 years old gets forced to marry so that they will born a baby at that age. Don’t you guys think that this is a right way to celebrate the tradition? In my opinion, I say no because even though, after woman borns a baby, their husbands still uses the violence. Children have no option to decline the forced marriage and if they marry and born a baby, they will not have a freedom. They will have to take care of baby and do housework. People thinks that women are weak but they are not. They can be very important role to our society so we should treat women more equal to men.

Now, Let us take an example of a picture above. If you see the picture above, they are not happy although they are marrying because they have to marry person you do not like or person that you do not know so do you guys think that it is fair to have a forced marriage? There are no any solutions for women because it is already decided so that it is impossible for them to change it. It became illegal in many countries but I am pretty sure that there are some people who got forced marriage even though they live in countries where it changed the forced marriage law.

Forced Marriage occurs because of their religion

Furthermore, There are many types of forced marriage. As I said, there is children marriage which forces children to marry and If you see in the religious perspective, It is considered as one type of traditions in religions like Islam. Some religious groups are the ones who also occurs the force marriage. In this case, women are forced to marry and they do not deny because they still accept whatever religious groups do however it is still very hard for them to escape or make avoidance when they marry or when they get divorced.

Pressure to women

It gives women a lot of pressure when they are forced to get married because they have no freedom after they get married. They have to take care of their children and they have to do hard housework. Men also uses the violence to women without any reason or on purpose after they marry or also before they marry. Comparing to our culture, It is very different because we do not have that specific laws of the forced marriage and the force marriage is very rare in our culture.

Stop this harmful tradition!

Overall, It is still legal in some countries but we can prevent the tradition of forced marriage. If you read some paragraphs in this article, You will find that there are many types of forced marriage. What can we do to stop this? Maybe it is time for women to start feminism. Feminism means women equality. We should try our best to make women equal to men which shows that women are strong, they should be involved in the society.
